Kate was classically trained, undertaking a bachelor in fine art at the prestigious arts college, central saint martins in London. and previously obtaining a bachelor in fashion design at Melbourne’s RMIT university.
Her avid appreciation in art, photography, creative direction, fashion design and styling has sent Kate’s creative pursuits all over the world, cementing a multi-faceted international career.
Kate has spent the past three years refining her multi-dimensional technique to creating her art. Her previous years spent working in creative direction and fashion styling have informed her art practice while defining her individual style and unique perspective on portraiture. Kate’s vision has strengthened as a result of simultaneously working in varied creative pursuits, allowing Kate to navigate the boundaries between art and fashion and start a dialogue between them, illustrating that the two are interconnected in her work and that creativity has no limitations.
Kate's recent collection ‘Woman,’ had been launched as part of Kommune's 'Just Land.ed Arts initiative,' program/ May 3, 2018./ Her vibrant portraits represent a universal, divine-feminine-connection. One that exists inside each and every woman, indiscriminate of age, status or global ethnicity.
The collection is divided into a three part series ; Wash-textured, large format wall plaque. Moderate-sized mood portraits , and a cluster of A4 line drawings on watercolour paper, enhanced using descriptive text of self analysis.
Her dry and witty word statements come as a random juxtaposition, summarising the feminine subject giving a tongue-in-cheek insight into Kate’s eye-flittering humour.
